It was amazing! And I...I had the same experience. It was amazing! And I'm so so happy it went so amazingly for you! I have to say, though, that like dolphins and elephants, I actually preferred to be with other women in the room as well. My husband and I stay together alone for the labour, but I love to enter a circle of womanly energy with him to receive the babies.

I have had friends do uc's...there were the same amount of challenges with their births as with the attended ones...but WAY less than are seen in a hospital, that's for sure.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06059951273542374898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5686997867572223504.post-54561089389860531272009-12-03T04:08:39.552-05:002009-12-03T04:08:39.552-05:00I myself had both the birthing experiences that I ...I myself had both the birthing experiences that I had imagined. Exactly! And I birthed my babies at home with only the support of my husband. Everything went great! Problem and pain free. Absolutley beautiful empowering experiences. I fully believe that the more a woman is left to her instincts the less will go wrong.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5686997867572223504.post-31175658477139562192009-12-02T20:58:28.766-05:002009-12-02T20:58:28.766-05:00Thanks for those wise words, doulanana. It is so ...Thanks for those wise words, doulanana. It is so true. It is our job to connect our ladies to their brilliance and power, showing them how they were absolute rock stars in their births. Feeling triumphant, even when the outcome is unexpected, is the cornerstone of starting out on the journey of motherhood. We have to love those ladies up to the fullest, and make sure we leave them as happy and confident as possible.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06059951273542374898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5686997867572223504.post-77141652898591330592009-12-02T18:49:01.304-05:002009-12-02T18:49:01.304-05:00I think the most important thing that we can do as...I think the most important thing that we can do as doulas is to keep the birth memory as positive as it can be because at the end of the day, besides her beautiful baby, that is all the mother has to hold on to. C - sections have their place as they have been known to save many a baby and mother and once we have done everything in our power to help prevent them, it is out of hands. Our job then becomes one of allowing the mom to know that it was not her fault and for us to try to spread the seeds of healing.doulananahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00516989475464898063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5686997867572223504.post-58117793495931644552009-11-29T18:03:23.580-05:002009-11-29T18:03:23.580-05:00well said!well said!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
